October 22, 2008 ー January 31, 2009

Maison de la culture du Japon à Paris, France

Aimed at telling the world about modern Japan, this exhibition toured the countries of Europe. Fully 161 works from various fields were selected for display in 12 categories relating to six key phrases centered on product design in the day-to-day lifestyles of contemporary Japan. The exhibition’s core concept was succinctly encapsulated in its title, “WA,” and 12 pieces were chosen as a prologue to the main event for the way they characterized the spirit of “WA,” or harmony. One of those pieces was “A-POC Cotton Baguette” (2000), and the foundation loaned it for display.
