The publication of “ISSEY MIYAKE” by TASCHEN

We are pleased to announce the publication of ISSEY MIYAKE by TASCHEN. It is a revised and updated edition of the 2016 book of the same title. The book initiated and conceived by Midori Kitamura, who has worked under Miyake for more than 50 years, and this brings together all of Miyake’s work from 1960 to 2022.
It is a rich visual retrospective that covers the full scope of Miyake's work, which spanned clothing design, exhibition planning, publishing, and the founding of 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT. It also features an essay by Kazuko Koike, a leading figure in the Japanese creative world. The cover for the new edition is an Irving Penn photograph of « Rhythm Pleats » (Spring-Summer 1990 Collection). This book also covers Miyake's work after the publication of the 2016 edition.
