Curated by a journalist and author Laurence Benaïm, the exhibition fosters a dialogue between the Pompidou Centre collection and fashion. On display is selection of garments from 17 designers corresponding to the themes of the modern art collection exhibition hall, with a focus on the "body." One item of garment per designer has been added to each of the rooms where the collection is normally on display to enhance a crossover between the history of modern art and fashion. Exhibition Room 26, with the title of "Gesture and material," displays "Mutant Pleats" from the 1989 Autumn-Winter Collection.
