This exhibition provided a retrospective look at Japanese fashion that has captured the world’s attention since the 1970s, featuring approximately 100 works by designers, supplemented by videos and photos. Based on the “Future Beauty” exhibition that started its international tour of five cities at the Barbican Art Gallery in London in 2010, this exhibition was reconfigured to add a perspective on the interrelationship between Kyoto—where traditional forms of dress are upheld and innovation continues to be pursued—and contemporary fashion. “A-POC” was exhibited at the museum entrance.
