Icons of the Times
– 50 Years Japanese Graphic Design
September 1 — 6, 2004
Matsuya Ginza, Tokyo, Japan
This exhibition focused on graphic design from the 1950s to the present day, and sought to consider the ways in which designs in each era affected the times, and any ongoing influence and significance. In response to a request from the organizers, the foundation exhibited posters from the “ISSEY MIYAKE A-UN” exhibition of 1988, photography by Irving Penn and graphic design by Ikko Tanaka.
